EASTON COACH COMPANY AWARDED CONTRACT IN HUNTERDON COUNTY, NEW JERSEY
EASTON, Pennsylvania – March 1, 2004 – Easton Coach Company, a diversified provider of passenger transportation services, announced today that it has been awarded the contract to operate the “LINK” transit system for Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The LINK is Hunterdon County’s public transportation system and has been in operation since 1985. The transit system currently transports about 170,000 people each year using 30 vehicles. The LINK service is a program under the County’s Department of Human Services and is a combination of scheduled and on-demand services. “We are grateful to be associated with Hunterdon County and its quality public transportation program. The operation fits nicely for us both operationally and geographically given that we operate other large public transit contracts and have historically run a significant amount of charter bus business in New Jersey’s western counties including Hunterdon County,” said Joe Scott, Easton Coach’s President. Easton Coach’s operation of the LINK begins today.
In addition to the contract with Hunterdon County, Easton Coach also operates public paratransit contracts in Northampton, Lehigh and Carbon Counties in Pennsylvania and has a private fleet of 26 motorcoaches and 15 other vehicles for charter, line-run and other contracted purposes. Easton Coach has been in existence since 1984 under various names and was most recently incorporated as Easton Coach Company in 2002. Easton Coach is a member of the American Bus Association, the United Motorcoach Association, the National Tour Association, the Pennsylvania Bus Association and the Pennsylvania Transportation Association. We are also proud members of the Two Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Easton Coach is affiliated through common ownership with Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, Inc., an international leader in professional driver training, and Cryogenic Transportation, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based trucking company specializing in the carriage of compressed industrial gases. Easton Coach is owned by David M. Boucher and McFadden Brothers, a New York-based investment firm. Mr. Boucher is Chairman of Easton, Smith and Cryogenic.
